As we take a look at the way in which Solomon builds this whole discussion about the meaningless of our human toil and our vanity, the way in which we build ourselves up with so many different efforts, rather than simply resting in God’s Word and God’s work.

We’re going to take a look at the book of Ecclesiastes, a wonderful old testament wisdom book which a lot of times people don’t quite know what to do with and certainly we are familiar with it from the Beatles song There is a Season, Turn Turn Turn.

We are stewards of that faith that has been given to us, the seed that has been planted into our hearts and into our lives through our ears. As we wrestle with our ear and eye problems and what it means in terms of our community, how are we to live?

Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God and that whole connection of hearing and doing both in the Hebrew and Greek language that we so easily miss shows up in a number of different ways.
